A passenger vehicle struck a security barrier outside the White House on Friday, putting the president’s residence on “lockdown” and prompting Secret Service personnel to spring into action.

On their Twitter page, the US Secret Service report that the offending vehicle was driven by a woman and smacked into the security barrier at NW 17th and E Streets in Washington, DC.

According to the US Secret Service, “The female driver of the vehicle was immediately apprehended by Secret Service Uniformed Division Officers,” no shots were fired and no law enforcement personnel were injured.

President Donald J. Trump is currently at the White House, having just conducted talks with the Australian Prime Minister.

  1. No sensationalism in the headline. The facts are in the first sentence of the article: “A passenger vehicle struck a security barrier outside the White House.” Wonder if the lady had a medical episode and lost control? (No I haven’t received the full sticky … misleading headlines infuriate this honest minded citizen.
