Three people miraculously survived a small plane crash on Long Island Sunday, after their Cessna came down just feet from a house in Valley Stream and became tangled in power lines.

The Cessna 172 was headed to Long Island MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma when the pilot became disoriented, possibly because of the fog, sources familiar with the crash said Sunday night. It changed route to JFK Airport, then lost contact with officials and came down on Clarendon Drive in Valley Stream at about 10:20 p.m., sources said.

All three passengers got out of the plane safely, without injuries, Officer Tara Ortiz, a Nassau County Police spokeswoman, said.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash, according to an FAA official.
