VIDEO: 6-year-old girl rushes ax-wielding attacker as he tries to rob family’s store
A six-year old girl from New Zealand was caught on camera trying to stop an intruder, as he tried to attack an employee at her family’s shop.
The Guardian reports that Sarah Patel rushed the attacker after he and five other teens broke into the electrical shop in Auckland on Monday.
The video footage shows the masked men kicking and punching an employee as he’s down on the ground, against the wall.
The little girl runs over and quickly pulls on the intruder’s leg, but when she sees the axe in his hand, she runs away. Shortly afterwards, she is seen on the video walking out of the room
with a man, later identified as her grandfather.
Patel told the New Zealand Herald: “She was trying to save the employee and that she wasn’t scared of the bad guy.”
Her father told local media that he was proud of his daughter’s actions and told her after the incident that she was “the bravest girl.”
Police eventually stopped the suspects using road spikes. They’ve charged five 16-year-old boys with aggravated robbery. A sixth suspect is still at large.
