An extremely patient 19-year-old waited with a drink in the lobby for his cash after attempting to rob a bank Friday afternoon, says a Facebook post by police in Riverside, California.
Sonny Gutierrez Jr. of Riverside drank a White Claw hard seltzer while tellers gathered his money, Officer Ryan J. Railsback, public information officer for the Riverside Police Department, told McClatchy News.
Meanwhile, employees contacted police, who arrived and arrested Gutierrez before he left the Bank of America branch, says the police Facebook post.
“A big shout out to the bank employees for remaining calm the entire time and relaying the suspect’s description and location inside to our dispatchers,” police wrote.
Gutierrez had entered the bank and passed a note to a teller demanding cash and saying he had a firearm, although none was seen, says the police Facebook post.
He was released from jail Sunday on $30,000 bail, police wrote.
Police added the tags #patienceisavirtuebutnotadefense and #whiteclawgetsyaeverytime to the Facebook post.
