Blackpool police in England posted a picture to their Facebook to ask the public to help identify a suspect involved in a robbery at a local restaurant. The post received an overwhelming response of over 120K comments and nearly 80k shares. Unfortunately, little to none of those comments helped lead officers to their suspect. But rather the internet’s fascination with the perp’s close resemblance to David Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller on the television sitcom “Friends”.
“Thank you to everyone for your speedy responses,” the Blackpool Police began in their comment to clear up any confusion. “We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date. We’re so sorry it has to be this way.”
It hasn’t been his day, his week, his month, and it’s unlikely to be his year! Blackpool police have shared this image of an alleged thief (left!) who looks uncannily like David Schwimmer (right). Police said Schwimmer was out of the country at the time of the offence ???? pic.twitter.com/fvPgt07te2

“Apparently the police had him cornered then he performed a pivot manoeuvre and escaped” ????
(Police have confirmed David Schwimmer was not in the UK at the time of the alleged offence) https://t.co/DqImUZzgQI
