A Florida man was arrested and charged after police said he threw a burrito at his girlfriend, marking at least the second food-related arrest in the past week in west central Florida alone.
According to a police report, Michael Elacqua, 41, and the woman got into an argument when Elacqua shoved her into a bedroom chair. That’s when Elacqua chucked the burrito, hitting the woman in the face, and according to an officer, left her with the “contents of the burrito dispersed across her face, neck and left chest/shoulder area.”
The police report did not note what was in the burrito.
Fortunately, for the victim, Elacqua didn’t throw a frozen pork chop at her, unlike one Florida woman, who was charged after her toss left her boyfriend with a half-inch cut on his face.
Elacqua then left the home and when an officer called him, wouldn’t say where he was and turned off his phone.
Police found and arrested Elacqua on Monday afternoon, according to the police report obtained by The Smoking Gun.
On Tuesday, a judge ordered Elacqua, who has a lengthy arrest record in Pasco County, to have no contact with the victim. Elacqua has since been released from jail.
