A woman who thought she had water in her ear found out it was actually a brown recluse spider, KSHB reported.
Missouri resident Susie Torres woke up feeling discomfort in her ear, so she decided to visit her doctor. At first she thought she had water in her ear, but she was sadly mistaken.
The “water” in her ear turned out to be one of her greatest nightmares when her doctor discovered a brown recluse spider living inside of her ear, KSHB reported.
“She ran out and said I’m going to get a couple more people,” Torres told KSHB. “She then said, ‘I think you have an insect in there.'”
Torres, who has a fear of spiders, remained calm until the doctors returned.
“She came back in and told me it was a spider,” Torres said to KSHB. “They had a few tools and worked their magic and got it out.”
Luckily for Torres, the spider did not bite her, the report stated. She does not know where the spider came from, or how long it was in her ear for, but she told KSHB that she will now take extra precautions before bed.
“I went and put some cotton balls in my ear last night, because I did not have any ear plugs,” Torres told KSHB. “I’m pretty terrified of spiders.”
