If you’re missing three syringes and believe they may have wound up in a Florida inmate’s rectum, please call Pinellas County Jail officials to claim your needles.
Wesley Scott, 40, was arrested on an drug warrant last week and taken to a county jail where deputies conducted a strip search and found drug paraphernalia in his rectum, according to a report published on The Smoking Gun.
Scott, who had been searched while clothed before being booked, told officers in the field he had nothing illegal in his possession. When jail house deputies found syringes in his anal cavity during a strip search, Scott reportedly told officers “that he found (the syringes) and that they were not his.”
The defendant also told officers he knew there would be consequences for inmates who smuggled illicit materials into a county jail. He was charged with introducing contraband into a correctional facility and held on $5,000 bail Friday.
