Macon County Sheriff’s Office is going the extra mile to ensure that citizens make it home safe as they enjoy the New Year’s Eve festivities.
In a Facebook post about the event, the Sheriff said officers participating in the 7th Annual ‘Operation Think Twice’ will be driving citizens home, or to any place they’d like to be dropped off, with “no questions asked” from 9pm – 6am. They will also have plenty of officers patrolling and manning check points set up to keep dangerous drivers off the road.
The Sheriff also mentioned that last year several participants took selfies with the officers and he said feel free to do the same this year and even post them to their Facebook page, well, the “appropriate ones” anyway.
Hats off to the Sheriff’s Office for doing everything they can to keep their community safe on what can be a dangerous holiday for drivers.
