A Louisiana man thought he could avoid a DWI by taking an electric shopping cart to the bars instead of his car.
Brice Kendell Williams, 32, was arrested early Sunday morning after police received a call about a motorized cart parked at a bar in Denham Springs, about 60 miles southwest of New Orleans, according to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy responded to the car and found the shopping cart parked between two cars.
Williams told police that he had been at another bar that night and wanted to change locations, but feared a drunk-driving arrest. So, instead, he took the cart from a local Walmart and drove it to the next bar.
He was charged with felony unauthorized use of a moveable and is being held on a $2,500 bond.
