On Tuesday morning, deputy Robert Pounds of the Collier County Sheriff’s Department pulled over a car going 63mph in a 45mph zone near Naples, ABC Action News reports.
When Pounds approached the car, he was surprised to find that a female passenger was in labor and minutes away from giving birth.
He called for the paramedics and backup. He then grabbed a blanket from his car and helped to deliver a baby girl.
Once the paramedics arrived, they cut the umbilical cord. Both baby and mom were fine and were both transported to an area hospital.
Before leaving the scene the deputy and the happy father posed for a picture.
