A man crashed through a convenience store ceiling and into the custody of the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), after fleeing an OCSO Warrant Team who’d spotted an expired paper tag on his car, the sheriff’s office said.
Police said the driver of the vehicle “made a beeline” for the store and locked himself in the bathroom, but came crashing through the ceiling after deputies entered the store.
At first, he didn’t give the deputies any information about why he ran, but later said he fled because “he hadn’t reported to his parole officer in a while and thought he was in trouble,” the sheriff’s office said.
The man was hospitalized and faced charges for “resisting arrest, improper tag, no insurance, destruction of private property, driving under suspension, and interfering with investigation,” police said.
