Powell, Ohio — Several students are suspected of putting urine and other bodily fluids into food for teachers at a middle school near Columbus, according to reports.
Investigators with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office tell ABC 6 there are several victims and suspects in the incident at Hyatts Middle School, which is part of the Olentangy Local School District.
According WCMH Channel 4, the incident occurred last Thursday during a home economics class called Global Gourmet.
As part of the class, students were preparing crepes in a cooking contest. The teachers were eating and judging the crepes.
Reports say at least one one student tainted the food with urine and semen before giving it to the teachers.
Sheriff’s investigators tell 10tv.com a video was circulating reportedly showing the food being tainted. The video wasn’t discovered until several hours after the teachers had eaten the food.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting tests on the uneaten food. There have been no arrests and no charges filed.
An Olentangy Local School District statement says anyone violating school policies will be held accountable.
Absolutely appalled to hear what happened at Hyatts middle school. Those teachers truly care about their students and are invested in their education and how they were treated in return is disgusting. I am sickened.
