For I was hungry, and you gave me Sonic.
A famished woman in Las Cruces, N.M., told a server, “This one’s on God,” after ordering a meal at a Sonic and then took off without paying for the food, the Las Cruces Sun-News reported.
The attempt to stick the food on His tab wasn’t kosher.
A server told her, “That’s not how this works,” and cops ran down the woman, Delila Hernandez, at a nearby park where she was busy snarfing the stolen eats, according to the Sun-News.
Hernandez, 30, told police that she was “starving” but also knew the almighty theft was wrong, according to court documents cited by the newspaper.
Hernandez faces a felony robbery charge, but Roxanne Garcia-McElmell, a spokesperson for the Third District District Attorney’s Office in Las Cruces, told the Sun-News that she expected Hernandez will ultimately be charged with a petty misdemeanor, or charges will be dropped.
But only God can judge her.
