Woman wears broad grin in mugshot after handing out pot cookies at St. Patrick’s day parade

Call it the (pot) luck of the Irish. A woman with a heart full of good intentions ended up in legal trouble at a St. Patrick’s Day parade in Wisconsin.

Cathleen Krause, 57, was allegedly handing out a special type of treat to participants of last Sunday’s all-green celebration in the town of Westcott, according to a local Fox affiliate.

The cookies and candy she was distributing were infused with a much-appreciated herb — currently legal in 33 U.S. states. Or 10, if you don’t have a doctor’s note.

An unnamed person, who was also at the parade, contacted police to let them know about Krause’s little secret.

A deputy approached the “visibly intoxicated” St. Paddy enthusiast. She had a gallon-sized bag of cookie crumbs , as well as some gummy candy on her. All treats tested positive for marijuana.

Krause — who had an ear-to-ear smile in her mug shot — was charged with two felony and three misdemeanor charges. She can’t leave the state without permission, and she was ordered to maintain “absolute sobriety,” according to the court document.

Krause appeared in court via video conference March, 18, after she was charged. She’s now scheduled to appear in person April 1, for an “adjourned initial appearance,” the document states.
